About Kings Theatre - Brooklyn
As one of the five original “Loew’s Wonder Theatres,” Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre was originally established as a movie and live performance theater of epic proportions. It officially opened its doors in 1929 and would become the epicenter of cinema and live performance in the thriving Brooklyn arts and shopping district along Flatbush Avenue. Due to an economic downturn, the theater shuttered in 1977 and remained closed for more than 37 years. Now, the lavishly revitalized gold and crimson palace-style venue hosts some of the biggest names in music, as well as touring musicals, comedy acts and more.
