We ate at Atwood and took advantage of their valet parking. It is a consistently excellent restaurant and the parking rocks.

Parked on the next block in the parking garage. For roughly 3-3 1/2 hours cost was $37. I'm sure there's cheaper parking elsewhere. But if it's really cold and windy this might be your best spot. Note large amounts of people will be exiting at one time. So there will be lines to pay for the parking as well as get out of the garage.

The weather was cold (like 5 degrees). I wore a dress. My date wore a sweater with dress pants. Note- that even tho you are in the lobby (if it's cold out) the lobby will still be cold due to all the doors (the workers checking tickets and selling souvenirs were wearing jackets/gloves). Dress was a little more dressy-casual. Didn't see many (if any) people in jeans. Mostly dress pants and sweaters. .

I took Metra to Union Station. If you have to buy a return ticket, buy it before you leave the station so you don't have to rush to buy it when you're trying to make the return trip. You can take the 157 or 124 bus,, which will drop you off in the vicinity of the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Watch carefully for Randolph or State Street, depending on where the bus is going. Once you get the swing of public transportation, it's much easier than driving.

We ate at Siam Rice, just around the corner from Cadilac Palace and had a great meal. Great food, BYOB so kept the Bill down. VERY prompt service - easy in/out in less than 1 hour. And you can watch cast/crew entering the Stage door behind the theater!

leave plenty of time for picking up tickets as the box office is not so efficient. I saw the trouble they were having hearing names, so I had my license out to save that hassle.
