Tips for The Gateway Theatre
497 The Gateway Theatre Tips
We ate at Palio d'Asti and enjoyed a drink at the Wayfarer Tavern. We would recommend both and they are within waking distance of the theater.
The show's only a bit over an hour. So don't come late, and there is certainly time to eat afterwards.
There seemed to be more parking as we headed past the theater on Jackson towards the bay and turned left on Davis.
Starts at 8 and over a little after 9 so if you don't mind eating late go to The Globe on Pacific one block away. There the parking is generally good. Doors open at 7:30 but the theater is so large there should be good seats still available a bit before 8. That's if you want to eT earlier. Next time I visit that venue I will park near the Globe and walk.
Street parking is hell. I drove around the block 4 times until I realized. That "van parking only" did not apply Sat night
It is an easy walk from BART
No reserved seats-so come early.
A5A Steakhouse across the street for appetizers and a drink before the show makes the perfect night at the theater.

We went to Melt on the way, very close by, they have mini cupcakes & water for $2.00 during intermission
Fun small friendly group of employees work here, lots of places close by in the financial district to eat, they have bottles water & mini cupcakes for sale during the intermission. It got pretty hot in there, even with the ceiling fans on, so dress in layers.
Parking is ok after 6pm - but lots at the end of Broadway are always open at night
I took BART, and the theater was walking distance and easy to get to.
Concessions had the standard coffee, soda, cookies, etc.
