106 CIBC Theatre Tips
Both Italian Village and Berghoffs are right on Monroe, hop, step and jump away. Each is a Chicago institution in itself--the Berghoff is in a building that was one of the first built after the fire in 1871. The IV has 3 restaurants; I always walk upstairs to the "village." It hasn't changed in 60 years!
The theater was somewhat cold. You might need an extra jacket or throw.
We had dinner at the Italian Village and used their Valet parking. Dinner was very good, however we did have to wait 45 minutes because they don't take reservations for two.
The weather was weather was overcast. I wore casual.
They offer a drink bar that you can take with to your seat.
Unfortunately, this is something that the theater can do nothing about....The seats are directly behind one another - it they would have staggered the seats, as they are at the Oriental Theater, viewing w/ be a tad better. So if you are short, you might want to bring a cushion..
We ate a great meal around the corner at Rosebud Prime where we were able to valet our car for the whole evening - worth every penny!
There are few restaurants in proximity to this theater, but Berghoff's is an option as well as Potbelly's for a fast sandwich option. The Grill across the street is good if a bit pricey, but you also need to plan the time it takes to enjoy a nice meal.
The weather was warm outside and very air conditioned inside. Bring a sweater..
We valet parked at the Italian Village and had a nice dinner prior to the show only a block away from the theater.
We ate at the Italian Village across the street from the theatre. Always great! They have a deal -- $12 parking for dinner and theater.
Easy, fun experience!
We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, but it's a little ways away - but there's plenty of dining options in downtown Chicago - from expensive to fast food.
We took the Metra - easy ride, a nice walk thru the loop and down to Michigan Av to take a boat cruise on the river. Plenty of time after the play ended to catch a train.
The weather was A little rainy. I wore Jeans and a nice top.

Parked at 55 E. Monroe garage. Ticket stub will get you validation for theater parking. Ours was $21 instead of $40.
The Last Ship
Lots of restaurant choices in the Loop at all price points. There is a concession stand that sells water, soda, beer, wine and snacks, but choices are poor. I expect better than just California cabernet or chardonnay and Budweiser beer. The bottled water is filtered, not spring. Blah.
Quick and easy stroll from the Monroe stops on either the CTA Red or Blue lines.
The weather was sunny and hot. I wore casual skirt, light jacket and sandals..
Cocktails and snacks for sale and can be brought into theater.
