Park in nbc building....close , cheap, no time limit a few feet away
If the parking validation person in Gambia theatre tries to talk you into validating at the mall because it's cheaper. Don't listen. It's just two buck less but by the time you get out of the show the validation machine is off so parking will be $26! We had to go back to the theatre, which was closed so we had to get security to ask someone in the office to sell us one for $10. So your best bet is buying validation at the theatre and don't let her talk you out of it!
We enjoyed a brazilian steakhouse "Rei de Gado" on the same block as theater. Excellent dining choice.
Park in NBC bldg (flat $10) & park on first floor, close to exit. Otherwise it's a LONG line to get out after the show.

Parking validation at Horton Plaza expires at 9:30 p.m. and the car in front of us to get out of the garage was arguing over this for seven minutes while we were forced to wait.
Seats in the upper balcony of the Balboa Theater have absolutely no leg room and I was uncomfortable the entire show. From these seats people on stage are little more than a dot.
The ticket was a waste on the five year old, too much fast dialogue for her to keep up
Show was only 70 minutes so you can park at Horton Plaza and get ticket validated at the mall.
Many great restaurant in walking distance. You may have to leave the mall lot and re park, for free again, but fantastic choice of about 50 restaurants in walking distance.
We parked in HOrton Plaza and paid $24 - seems a little high.
Stop at Viva down the street before you go. Great food, service and sangria.
There really isn't a bad seat in the theatre. It's small enough that you can see from anywhere.
Park at Horton Plaza, inside the lobby of the show they sell $10 passes that are good for 6 hours....cheaper then any lots around and a lot closer.
The theater has several discounts on restaurants in the area, so get the coupons before you dine....
I wore a sweater, flip-flops, etc..
Parking is difficult in the gaslamp. Come for dinner early and use valet or park on the street north of Broadway and walk a few blocks.
Get to the plaza a bit earlier and make a purchase at a shop. This should take care of the purchase fee, because the ticket you purchased to the show will not. Parking is $2.50 per 15 minutes at Horton Plaza parking, but if you have made a purchase of $10 or more, then it is only $2.50 per 15 minutes AFTER 3 hours of parking or 9:00pm.
