Theater has their own free parking which is very convenient!!!
They have a parking lot, you just need to show your ticket
Get there at least 30 minutes early to park in the lot behind the theater. Great location.
I wore A sweater,theater cool.

There is free parking in Old Town, but the small lot next door to the theater is often filled in the evening by people who came for the matinee and stayed for dinner. Similarly, the large lot across the street is also frequently filled on Friday and Saturday nights, particularly during tourist season. The theater parking lot attendant told me that there is plenty of free parking at the CalTrans building across Taylor St., a 10-minute walk from the theater, and there are a limited number of passes that the attendant has that allow parking at a hotel one-block away.
On the 20th Century
The lot next to the theater is great IF you get there early. The attendants gave us a voucher to park at a nearby hotel for free, but the delay cut into our dinner time. We managed to grab a great casual dinner quick and cheap at a local Mexican joint with great street tacos and make it to the play in time. Show runs long so use the rest room before it starts!
We enjoyed dinner in the patio of the Cosmopolitan Hotel having parked in Cygnet's designated parking lot first and then did the 1 1/2 block walk.
This theater will only seat you in the last 2 rows no matter what the seating availability or when you purchased your tickets. Goldstar does not state this in the description of the seating, only describing the section and providing a seating chart. Very misleading.
There is lots of parking at the theater, don't worry about that at all.

The weather was very warm for February.. I wore jeans, a casual top and jeans jacket. I'm glad I had the jacket because it was a little cool in the theatre. I wore comfortable shoes so we could walk around Old Town before and after the play..

I went to a Sunday matinee. The weather was really nice and I was afraid it would be hard to find a place to park, so I took the trolley! No stress! It was an easy five minute walk to the theatre from the station.
When the Rain Stops Falling
We parked and ate dinner at Berta's restaurant just down the street. They were kind enough to let us keep our car there fro the remainder of the night. Wonderful food and music.
I wore informal.
Food and drink is available for purchase prior and during the intermission at the outdoor bar/patio area. Almost adjacent is the historic Cosmopolitan Hotel that until mid-December has a dinner or lunch special.

Arrive early... Dress seems to be as fancy or casual as you want to make it (temp is not an issue)... Although all seats are very good -- those in the middle are of course the best....
A Christmas Carol
They are currently working on the access streets to Old Town, which make a lot of the parking very difficult to access. Give yourself a lot of extra time to find parking and then walk to the theatre.
I would go early enough to have dinner in Old Town and to get early parking at the theater parking lot (small).
There are variety of restaurants in walking distance from the theatre. That night we chose Miguel's Cocina, 2444 San Diego Ave. We love the food and their fresh chips and homemade white queso dip is to die for.
The theatre bar offers beer, wine, soda, snacks, and some adult mixed drinks.
