The Alcazar Theatre is in the Tenderloin. I usually go here for matinees, as I feel more comfortable in the daylight in this neighborhood.
Alcazar theater is on Geary Street, congested, best to take Muni or BART. the 38 Geary Bus will stop a half block away.BART would take 15 minutes walk from Powell Street Station
We ate down the street at Davids and had meat loaf which was quick and very good.
A nearby value Indian restaurant on Jones is Red Chili. They have great food at an affordable price, but definitely order the "mild" spice option!
I wore Wear warm clothing the theater didn't seem to be heated and everyone wore a coat through out the performance..

Great Vietnamese dining just a couple doors away. We had early dinner after the matinee. Yummy.

The weather was It was a rainy day, but the sun broke through during our roundtrip 4-block walk to and from BART. I wore Light jacket - carried an umbrella, of course.
