The weather was Cloudy & rainy. I wore Comfortable dress boots, tights, dress with sparkles and a body chain. Our group went with pin stripe spaghetti strap dress w/sandals (& jacket); purple feathery & sequin spaghetti strap short dress with purple tennis and a heavy long lilac jacket; sequin top and black wide leg pants with tennis and puff coat; red puff sleeve wide u-neck short dress with knee high boots & dress jacket.
Garages close early so street parking is required. Don't park in a Tow zone, it will cost you big time $$$$$
Uber or Lyft in is your best bet.

Great location for dining, in the heart of Chinatown.
Hamburger Cat Cabaret
The weather was cool since it was a night show.. I wore dress, jacket, and flats. You can be dressed up if you want or not it was a mix in the audience..
Parking is scarce. Take public transit

If driving, use the SigAlert App for traffic & routing. At ALL costs, avoid Grant St; approach via Pacific St, then Left onto Beckett St, the alley-like street just west of Columbus & Kearny Streets. Beckett St has no obvious street sign & looks like a drive way!
The Boy From Oz

Parking is a bear! Take public transit or be prepared to troll.
The Boy From Oz
Park in Portsmouth Square Parking Garage; evening special is $6 (but don't lose your parking ticket like I did; then it's $27). Less than five-minute walk to the theatre.

R & G Lounge (hasthe best Chinese food) on Kearny St. only a couple of blocks away from the Great Star Theatre.
The Boy From Oz
There is popcorn and a bar with beer and wine that is perfectly adequate. The tables at the front of the room--VIP seating--are convenient for this. But have dinner nearby, the theater is in Chinatown!--R&G Lounge is our favorite, just a block away oon Kearney.
Challenging to find street parking, but look for an underground parking lot...usually about $5. for evening.
Lots of great places to eat nearby in Chinatown, within walking distance. And it is OK to bring your food and drinks into the theater! Yah!
Hunan Homes is two doors down and is fantastic. Get there early as it's very popular and can run a wait.
The theater does not have a concession permit yet so BYOB. They are very cool about it. No corkage fee.
Friends ate next door at Hunan Home and enjoyed dinner there before the show. Afterwards we walked up to North Beach and went to a café to chat. This old theater is near all kinds of restaurants and cafés, and is in Chinatown and close to North Beach.
