1,389 Orpheum Theatre Tips
there are parking lots nearby and pretty decent metered street parking (you don't have to pay after 6pm)
Hadn't been to the Orpheum in a few years so discovering the nice big parking lot across from the theater is now an apartment building under construction was a bit of a shock. Back to the usual car unfriendly attitudes of San Francisco which is OK if you live there but after driving 70 miles from out of town running around in circles 10 minutes from showtime trying to find a parking space and finally paying $40 for 3 hours of parking makes coming to the city less and less likely. So SF becomes less of an attraction as they are finding out with new, and even old franchises moving to San Jose or elsewhere. The America's Cup was a huge spectator failure and you can anticipate more of the same. And don't tell me about the train or the bus. That's not a fun night out.
The weather was Windy. I wore Pants and sweater.

Check out Sam's Diner. It's right down the street & quite an extensive menu.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
BART AND MUNI right there at the Orpheum
I wore casual, colorful!!!.
Preorder your drinks for the intermission.
There's no 'safe' place to park given the location of the theatre. You're better off to take Bart.
or, add your own...Get there early and find street parking.
SHN has a bit of a cattle call for seating. Theater is way understaffed, and people will be seated in sections. Prepare to wait in a mass in front of closed or roped doors.
Be aware of your surroundings
Ate earlier before getting on BART
It was warm, dressed in layers
Bart, bart, bart!!!

Men, if you gotta use the restroom, go on the first floor or prepare to walk to the freaking roof.
Take BART, exit Civic Center, take the Market/Hyde St. exit and you're at the Orpheum.
Sam's Diner just up Market across from Starbucks. Great food, good prices and a cozy atmosphere.
Wore shorts and a tee. I fit in perfectly and was comfortable to boot.
