The Border Grill in Santa Monica is a great choice for before the show. Food and drinks are served at the bar, service is friendly and fast, and you're a hop skip and a jump from the theater.
The weather was warm. I wore a sundress.
Restaurants within walking distance, and beverages (including wine) available for purchase at the show.

parking is free, but one has to walk around construction fencing to get to the smaller Edye theatre on the Arizona Ave. side of the arts center.
Free parking and plenty of it! We ate at El Cholo around the corner, which was inexpensive and had great service and delicious food!

No snack bar of any sort for the matinee.
When school is not in session, the parking is a breeze.

The theater was really hot. The air conditioning wasn't turned on until nearly the end of the show.
Just a few short blocks from 3rd St. Promenade, a great post-event outing for desert.
No intermission, so use the bathroom before the performance. And turn off your cell phones please!
