Valet parking is $15. Not necessary because meters are abundant on the street and free after 5:00.
Free Parking after 5PM. I've been to two shows at this theater and was able to find free meter parking both times. Meters are free after 5 and both shows I went to were in the evening. Meters are just $0.50 an hour with a max of 2 hours.
Eat at China Garden across the street from McDonald's. 318 N Genesee St, Waukegan, IL 60085. The place is nothing special but the food is excellent, inexpensive, and you get large portions. You order at a counter, then walk to another room and sit down. They bring food on disposable plates, but the people there are friendly, the food is good, and it is served quick. It is half a block to the right if you are walking out of the theater.
The theater has 2 bars and sells chips, cookies, and snack foods, but nothing substantial.
Two blocks from the theatre, Papa Marco's Kebabs was incredible. The area looks a little dodgy but the staff and clientele were great, place is newly done and spotless, and the food was reasonable and delicious. Best Hummus I have ever had, and the Baklava is amazing
You can find street parking if you don;t mind walking a few blocks. Otherwise $15 for parking.
We dined at Rosati's where the portions were huge!
Eat at the 700 North bar and grill. Tasty sandwiches, and great selection of beer and wine!
Rosati's in nearby and delicious!
The Genesee Theater is beautiful. Not much else happening in the area on the night we were there.
