If you buy a general admission seat be aware that you will be sitting on benches and be asked to move at any time during the performance, as the actors move from place to place on your seats, etc. There are more expensive seats that are actually numbered and are chairs...When our nearly 80 group realized this the ushers were kind enough to find us seats in places where you did not have to move.
It was a lot of fun to watch the spry ones moving fairly often!
You can have good Mexican food just across the street at El Portal. BUT don't park there for the theater. It will cost $10. There are at least three, $3.00 flat rate lots right near the theater.

I managed to find a free spot on the Madison, the street behind the theater, where parking is free after 6pm. There is also a city lot on Madison, which is inexpensive. One block east, on Green and El Molino, there's a $3 parking lot, and directly across from the front of the theatre, you can park for $5 in the office building. Signs mark all the lots clearly.
Arrive early to see the exhibit in the side lobby about internment in LA & the "Go For Broke" regiment of Japanese-American soldiers who fought in WWII, despite being imprisoned by their own nation at home.

A new restaurant has opened directly across the street from the Pasadena Playhouse. It is the TLT restaurant. Yummy food at reasonable prices.
There is a lot on El Molino for Carousel Rugs. It is $5.00 all day.
