We were told to park in a lot over street parking. We ended up at Civic Center for $21 (a little over 6 hours) which for SF is good, but two other families we went with parked on the street for free and had no trouble. I had been warned not to street park so you do take a chance.
The weather was mild, but chilly.. I wore a work like dress and tights. You see everything. Personally, I like to dress a little more than casual for the theater..
It on the Bart line very convenient. Civic Center and UN Plaza
Gyro King was close, delicious, reasonably priced and not crowded.
Sam's one block away, the ambiance is subdued but the food is very good and excellent service too. And they make sure you are not late for the show.
We took BART from Pleasanton, and it drops you off right at the theater! We had never used BART, and it turned out to be very easy! We arrived early and walked a few blocks to a huge shopping mall where we were able to pass the time safely. Clean restrooms, coffee & food, etc. A great experience as I had two teenagers with me!
Civic center parking just 2 blocks from the venue
If you want to enjoy great Mexican food Nd great margaritas check out the Cadillac. Within walking distance
I downloaded the "synopsis" of the play and read it to my wife on the way down to the play...very helpful in following the story without ruining the play. Also, buy the CD and listen to the words of the music over and over again, because the music at the play (mostly being rap) is very fast and you might miss some of the wonderful lyrics.
Took BART to Civic Center. There is an exit/entrance in front of Orpheum Theater.
The weather was showers. I wore button down long sleeve shirt, jeans, below knee length hooded pea coat, and had an umbrella..
BART is the way to go. Parking is tricky, iffy and if you do, add extra time.

FYI Orpheum provides listening devices for those who need a little assistance. You need to leave your ID and return it when you return the device but otherwise they are free.

Leave plenty of time to arrive, they start punctually. Figure out your transit or parking options in advance, and enjoy.
HAMILTON
Drinks were delicious but quite expensive
Careful walking around at night!
If you live in the city, the Number 5 bus stops a block away. I realize it's not the safest of neighborhoods at 10 pm, but you can at least take it to get to the theater. I found it to be very efficient.
The weather was Windy and rainy . I wore Layers. I found the perfect Hamilton scarf black and brown, gold. .
