Rode the Megabus from Sacramento to see matinee. Ample time before and after show to walk to & from theater, grab bite to eat, enjoy the city buzz. And so cheap !! Great way to go. No hassle.
Hayes Valley Grill was a perfect choice
The weather was Chilly out, so layer or have a jacket.. I wore Nice sweater and jeans..
Take Uber!
The weather was cool, overcast. I wore Business casual is fine..
Parking in the new SOMA garage was easy.
Be sure to reserve parking at one of the nearby lots.
It’s right in front of the Civic Center BArt. Much easier than driving and having to pay for parking.
One block away is Sam's American Cafe, the food is excellent and the service is quick. Get there early!
The weather was Cold. I wore A jacket and floral blouse and slacks. .
Went to the Sunday evening show. Drove and parked at a metered space on Ninth St. across from a fitness center which didn’t cost a penny since it was Sunday. Walked one and one half blocks to and from the Orpheum. The Orpheum seating was somewhat comfortable, but tight squeeze. Difficult to see left area of the stage due to the seating. Most dressed casual. Able to see the show without a tall person sitting in front of me, blocking my view in front of me. Glad for an intermission. Great musical depicting history.
The Orpheum theater is a few steps away from BART (Civic Center)
The weather was Chilly. I wore Jeans with a light jacket.
intermission toilet break is frantic; minimize your pre show fluid intake.
Bart is nearby as well as parking garages below Market Street.
Take BART and get off at Civic Center. Follow the signs to Market and Hyde. Go up the stairs and you are there.
We parked in the market street garage
Sam's Cafe across the street is perfect location to grab a bite before the matinee. Variety off food. But it's small so get their early and plan for a short wait.
Beware of the ridiculous bar prices at the Orpheum theatre... I spent $30.00 on a rum & coke, a pack of cheezits, and a pack of M &M's!
Street parking can be tricky, and the area is unfortunately rather run down. If you are going to the evening performance, I would park at the Civic Center.
