The weather was windy and cold. I wore layers but the venue was very comfortable. Took off my coat..
We went to the Market on right down the street which has a great assortment of foods in many different sections of the building. They have vegan, international foods, organic etc.
There's a long line to take a photo with the photo with the Aladdin backdrop and lamp.. so you can try to wait until after the show. It went by faster.

I was warned by a friend who had seen it earlier. After the curtain call, they tell people to take their seats, and they proceed to try to raise money for a nonprofit. Apparently the woman playing Jasmine becomes a kind of auctioneer, getting people to bid on seats for another show seen from backstage. Just FYI.

Take MUNI or BART if you can. The Civic Center stop leaves you off close to the theater. Go across the street and see the Whitcomb Hotel - temporary location of the SF City Hall following the 1908 Earthquake. They have a restaurant where you can have dinner and complete the night out. Go after the matinee or before the evening show.
BART lets out right by the Orpheum theatre. There are homeless people hanging out on the steps going up from the station, but I didn't have any trouble getting out.
Go to Sam's Diner EARLY. There will be a line, but it's worth it.
Great eatery one block up Market called Sam's Diner
take BART

Park on street
Disney’s The Lion King
So quick and easy to take Bart and walk a block to the theater!
BART stops at the entrance to the theatre and is very easy!
5.30pm: We ate at the Pier Market, Pier 39 on the Embarcadero: it's a great sea food restaurant with lovely views. We made reservations on line the day before. Park at the parking lot across the street from the pier, $10 per hour with $10 off when validated at the restaurant. It's an easy drive back along the Embarcadero to Mission turn right onto 6th, left onto Market and on to the theater. Civic Center is around the block.
Go for a drink and snack beforehand to the Hall or the Market. Be aware that this is no the best area in town.
BART stop (Civic Center) is right outside of the Orpheum's front door! I live in Hayward. Took Dublin train. Fremont train does not run direct to or from SF at that time of night
BART lets you out directly across the street. When you leave, you can access BART in front of theater.
